Hi Glimpsers! I’m part of your Global Glimpse Leader (GGL) team to the new GG destination of Guaranda. My name is Marti Cooper and I work at Oakland School for the Arts as the executive assistant and as the operations coordinator. I can’t wait to start this journey with each of you. This is my 3rd trip with GG; I’ve previously traveled to Esteli and Matagalpa in Nicaragua. I became interested in GG when my daughter became a Glimpser 4 years ago. I was so inspired by the students’ daily blogs that I wanted to be part of this organization and the following year I became a GGL.

I’m originally from Wisconsin but I have lived in Virginia, Mississippi, Arizona and Australia and have visited 6 continents. Many years ago, I had the opportunity  to travel overland from Australia to England over 5 months. This was the spark that led me to the path I’m on today. I have always enjoyed traveling off of the beaten path in order to really experience the country, culture, and to get a true sense of what the people are like. I’m looking forward to seeing a spark ignite in each of you.

You’re about to embark on a journey of a life time. It’s up to each of you to embrace the opportunities that are set before you, be willing to challenge yourself, and to step outside of your comfort zone. We are all here to support and encourage each other. I can’t wait to meet each of you and to begin a new adventure together!
