Hi,
I’m Ms. Morales, librarian at Irvington High School, and one of your Global Glimpse Leaders. Our upcoming trip will be my first time traveling as a GGL but rest assure that you’ll be accompanied by great leaders. Like Ms. Kamal & Ms. Nelson, I have lots of experience leading student groups. I speak Spanish and I’ve traveled to Latin American countries (Brazil, Mexico & Nicaragua). I am looking forward to meeting all of you and sharing an experience of a lifetime with you in the DR!
Greetings, I am Mike Rodriguez, from Pittsburg High School, located in, you guessed it, Pittsburg, CA. A few of the hobbies I have are sports such as soccer/tennis, and visual performing arts such as Marching Band/Concert Band. All activities have their own individual beneficial factors but are united with the entertainment that is not only given to me, but the people who decide to see us play/perform. Places I have traveled have been to Washington D.C. , which holds much of American History, Hawaii, a recent vacation where me an my family had nothing but a good time, Mexico, finally being able to meet the family which I had never seen before, and Italy, where my fellow band members and myself performed the New Years day parade in the heart of Rome. I am extremely eager to take part of the Dominican Republic, particularly because I am traveling with Global Glimpse, which will allow me to not just travel for a vacation, but rather allow myself to have a positive impact I there, which I really enjoy knowing of how useful I can be. Thank you for your time and see you on July 1st.
Hi, I’m Sara Wizig. I go to Oakland School for the Arts in Oakland, CA and I am part of the production Design Department there. I am extremely passionate about participation in the creative arts and particularly visual arts such as drawing, painting, and design. I am inspired by the way those mediums can create dialogue and communicate ideas across physical and psychological borders. I am very excited to experience this trip and believe that exploring beyond the realm of each of our individual bubbles is a necessary part of coexisting in the world that we live on and gives all of us an opportunity to absorb what each of our cities has to offer. I am excited to see the beauty of the culture in San Juan and hopefully use my passion for art and others to spread that same feeling I get from creating it. Thank you so much, see you on July first !
