Hello Everyone!

My name is Jack Padalino and I will be one of your Global Glimpse Leaders this summer! I want to welcome everyone to our Global Glimpse Blog for our 2018 trip to Constanza! Wahoo! I hope everyone had a great 2018 school year, is enjoying some much needed decompression time, and is ready to have an amazing experience in the DR. Since you’ve all been through all the workshops and had your parent meeting I think I’ll take some time for our first post to introduce myself.

About me:

I’ve been teaching high school physics at The Urban Assembly School for Applied Math and Science for 4 years now. I started teaching 4 years ago because I wanted to spend my time doing something that I felt made a difference in the lives of others. So I thought to myself “I love science, and teaching seems like a great way to do something important”. So I went for it and its been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I love to travel, and I’m particularly excited about this trip because it will be a cultural experience for me unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. In my travels to Europe, Central America, and around the US I’ve never had the opportunity to get to know locals in the way that we will, so I can’t wait!

In my free time I like to stay busy, and I’m always learning something new. My latest projects include learning Spanish and salsa dancing! I’m sure our trip will give me an opportunity to show off both!

My philosophy on life is that it is an experience that is meant to be shared. So let’s dive in head first this summer, get messy, learn about another culture, and have an amazing time together. I truly believe this is going to be a transformative experience for all of us!

If anyone has any questions you can reach me anytime at 585-880-4798 or [email protected].

Can’t wait to meet all of you! Enjoy summer. See ya’ll at Newark Airport on August 7th!

Here’s me!
