Hi everyone. I am so excited to be joining you on this trip. I am a history teacher at the Greenfield High School in Greenfield, Massachusetts. My teaching career spans over 25 years and I absolutely love motivating students to learn not only about themselves, but about the world. Opening students eyes to varying world cultures, historical events, the politics behind those events, and how the economy affects the lives of people helps students to understand themselves and how they can contribute to or change the world for the better. This is my second year traveling with Global Glimpse. Last year we went to Nicaragua and it was a life changing experience for both students and leaders. I have traveled throughout North America including Canada, USA, Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, the Bahamas, and Bermuda. I have also traveled to Africa spending a summer studying in South Africa. I gain energy from taking in the beauty of nature through hiking, bike riding, gardening, and kayaking. My hobbies are reading, photography and collecting sea glass and shells. I love to laugh, joke around, give hugs, and make people feel special. Being sensitive to the emotional and social needs of others is a gift, yet I am not afraid to say what is on my mind or stand up for what I believe is just. I am looking forward to meeting everyone and embracing every experience that comes our way in the Dominican Republic.
Hasta pronto!!!
Terri
