Hello CH1B Glimpsers and family!

My name is Andrew Wetmore and I am one of the GGLs for our rapidly approaching trip to Chitre! I teach health and phys ed and coach baseball at Pritzker College Prep in Chicago. My interests include baseball, going to concerts, and traveling, especially to America’s National Parks. I’ve been a part of Global Glimpse for three years now, and this is the second trip that I will have gotten to travel with.

I take great pride in being a GGL because I really truly believe in the positive impact that this adventure has on everyone involved, students or GGLs–it truly opens your eyes to the world around you and gives you a chance to see life from a different perspective, all while helping to build self efficacy. As the future leaders of the world in an increasing global society, it is paramount that you Glimpsers have the tools you need to make this world a better place!

I am beyond excited for our trip to Panama, especially since it is a new host country for Global Glimpse this year! As a history buff, I’m really excited to see and learn more about the Panama Canal, but I’m also really looking forward to getting to know Chitre on an intimate level–meeting some amazing new people, embracing the culture, and appreciating our differences.

That’s all from me now, but I’ll leave you with my favorite picture of me from my solo two week trip through California last summer where I hit four baseball stadiums and four National Parks!
