Hello everyone! My name is Jenie (pronounced as “Jenny”) Galicia and I go to Oakland High School! I’m super excited to be traveling with all of you, making new friends, and most importantly, creating an impact in a place other than home!
Some fun facts about me are that I play badminton and volleyball at my school! I’m also Oakland High’s upcoming Associated Student Body president and National Honor Society president! I used to be a student delegate and the class treasurer, so you could probably tell that I enjoy being involved with my school!
I am not a stranger when it comes to serving my community. I’m part of a community service club called buildOn where I do service with my peers almost every weekend. I have contributed at least 500+ hours of volunteer work in my community! Some of the places where I volunteered were at food banks, soup kitchens, marathons, museums, conferences, parks, and care homes! So I’m definitely looking forward to helping outside of the country!
