Hello, families and friends!
My name is Sixto Cabral, one of the program coordinator who was born and raised here in San Juan and today was my turn for me be LDD meaning (leader of the day). Today we have had a great experience during the City Tour having the opportunity to learn more about the Dominican Republic history in general, but more focused on the city San Juan de la Maguana that is located in the South of the country around 200 km away from Santo Domingo.
We learned about everything related to Tainos (the first people who lived on the island), Cacicazgo (the difference site in the island that divided the country), Cacique (was a leader who leads each Cacicazgo), we were talking about politics, education, the founding fathers so for that reason today was called History-City Tour. We hope to keep learning more about everything related to this beautiful country.
Thanks for posting the update! Grace – hope you are having a blast and we miss you!
When will the students begin posting in the blog?
