Hey Glimpsers! Tony and I are getting super excited for our trip this summer! We’d like to invite you to introduce yourselves here on the blog! Upload a picture and tell us a little about yourself! What are your interests, hobbies, etc. How are you preparing for the trip? What do you want us to know about you?

A little about us:

I’m Holly. This will be my second summer as a Global Glimpse Leader. I live in Oakland and have been teaching English at Lighthouse Community Public School. I have been teaching Social Studies, English and Spanish at the high school level for the past eighteen years. I absolutely love to travel and have traveled extensively in Latin America while learning Spanish over the last 15+ years.  Like Tony, I love being outdoors and exercising! I spend most of my free time swimming, surfing, running, biking, or salsa dancing! In my down time, you will find me reading with a cat on my lap, or in my garden or kitchen growing and eating organic vegetables. I am looking forward to learning more about Panama’s history and cultures before we go! And of course, getting to know all of you amazing future leaders!

Here’s what Tony has to say: “Hi Glimpsers! This will be my seventh trip being a GGL!! I’m excited to go to Panama because I’ve never been there before! I am a retired HS teacher. I taught history, economics, math and theatre for 40 years, most of which were at John Swett HS in Crockett. I also coach cross country. I love running, cycling, swimming and I love to travel!!! I look forward to meeting you all!”

Thanks for your responses to the email! We’re hoping that at least half of you will be able to make our pre-trip get together in Berkeley on June 19th at MLK Park in downtown Berkeley. Please check your emails and let me know if you can or can’t make it!

¡Hablamos pronto!

¡Feliz verano!

-Holly
