Hello Glimpsers!

I’m Ms. Amy and I’ll be one of your GG Leaders. I’m so excited to meet you all and embark on this adventure with you. Last summer, I was a GGL for the Riobamba, Ecuador trip. It was such a meaningful and fun learning experience, and I enjoyed getting to know all of the students and the local community. I started learning Spanish in high school, have travelled to several Spanish-speaking countries, and have recently tried to brush up on my Spanish at a couple of language institutes in Puebla and Tulum, Mexico.

Just a bit of information about me. My parents immigrated from Hong Kong to Chicago, and I was born and raised in Chicago with my three older brothers. I went to St. Ignatius for high school and I’m a first-generation college student. I had been away after college for 15 years living and working in Tokyo, Washington DC, Boston, and San Francisco, before I made my slow return home to be closer to my family. I love to travel (I’ve been to 30+ countries), check out arts and culture shows, and go to turbo kickboxing and zumba dance classes.

I’m passionate about supporting students in their leadership development to address social justice issues and to make positive contributions in the world. I’m really looking forward to supporting you on your leadership journey. Can’t wait to meet everyone soon!

Ms. Amy
