It’s called fun day, isn’t it? Today we traveled to Canon de Somoto and we even picked up our private tour guides for the day! Walking, slipping, swimming, jumping, and crawling through the Canon de Somoto wasn’t only physically challenging but also mentally challenging. I am happy to share that with support and encouragement that everyone took the biggest leap of their life, which answered our question of the day; how do I prepare when I have a big challenge in front of me? Jumping off a thirty-five foot cliff isn’t something done on a daily basis for any of us, but we did it today.
Being the leader of the day made me realize all the little things about our group that only our GG leaders have noticed, like how we are always distracted by deep conversations with each other or can’t count to 21 even though all of our GPAs are way above a 2.1.
Not only did we have the most fun day so far but the most fun bus ride ever with our favorite bus driver Ishmael who even joined us on our field trip. He brought a USB cord for us so we could play our American slaps for the ride.
We got a piece of home/America tonight by stepping away from beans and rice and getting some pizza at White House Pizzeria. Even though we were tired from a long day at the canon we still had energy to jump on the indoor trampoline and shoot baskets. Today was a challenge of its own, however with the leadership skills I have learned so far I was able to pull the group together and have a real fun day.
