(Drawing with children at Proyecto Recreo)

Today was all about helping children in schools. We started off the day by visiting a school named Germán Abdo and we talked to one of the staff named Sylvia. There we discussed what we can do to help the school and the children for our Community Action Project (CAP). Sylvia mentioned a mural and how it may help motivate the kids to get an education. She also shared what were some of the other needs to help beautify and improve the school.

When we came back to the hotel, we had a seminar to help us start brainstorming what we can do to help. After lunch, we went to Proyecto Recreo, which is an after-school program for low-income children. There we interacted with the children by drawing and playing with them. We then went outside and had an “emotional dance circle,” where we would dance, and when the music stopped, we did an emotion to give examples of how to show our emotions. We came back to the hotel and resumed brainstorming for our CAP project.

Overall, it was a great day where we got to hang out with little children and have fun!
