Today, we started our day with a nice breakfast to give us energy for the day. We started our day off with a 3-hour seminar summing up our trip along with the new experiences and lessons we gained from it. We gave big love to one another on a sheet with each student’s name on it. It was a sentimental moment shared amongst the group that brought us all closer together. We also had an open mic to give any apologies, appreciation, or raps with one another about the trip or group as a whole. We played a group game called Black Magic, most of us for the first time. We had a little free time before departing to the waterfall. We went on a small hike to reach the beautiful waterfall. Given that today was our last day before heading home, we took lots of photos.  We weren’t there for very long. Everyone played volleyball and tips in the water for the majority of the time before hiking back to the bus.

We went back to the villa to change into our nice clothes to have a last dinner together at Pepperoni & Pizza. The pizza was delicious and everyone was so full from all of the variety of food. We then made our way back to the villa and started to pack our suitcases to be ready for our early morning departure home then had free time. During this time, KJ, Hinisha, Brenda, and Rosie had a headstand contest. Hinisha won first place in 12 seconds, of course, and KJ came second in 10 seconds. Brenda and Rosie tied at third place with 5 seconds each. We all had a gymnastics session with cartwheels, front flips, pop-ups, and a race. Brenda, Rosie, and KJ had a race from one end of the gate to the other. KJ won on the way there and Rosie won on the way back. We had our last nightly meeting together and it was a bit of an emotional rollercoaster. We all handled our emotions together as a unit with the bond we’ve all created with one another. We went into giving a plus and wish for the leaders of today (Lider Del Día). We did a good job today working together to communicate what we think could be better amongst ourselves and how we could make the group’s day better.

We went into big love and talked through the Question and Quote of the day. For the talent show, Sara had a wall-sit contest with other students. In the end, Aymen and Sara were the last two standing and everyone was supporting Aymen even though he was ready to give up, but ended up coming out on top. We all cheered for him and talked about our schedule for the next day. We ended with a Unity Clap with our words being “JA2B OUT.” Kyla wanted everyone to take a picture together because, after this, we’ll all go our separate ways. She wanted her mom to see a picture of all of us. We all had a lovely and eye-opening experience that none of us thought we’d get. It was the people that made the trip unique and special in a way that was unimaginable. Today was bittersweet but the journey is never over. We’ll take everything we’ve learned here with us back home and apply it back to our community.
