Just kidding, haha. Still need money.

Not sure what everyone else is writing, but we’ll do our best. We woke up, early as always, ready to attack the new day. Everyone (especially today) was in good spirits as we led the charge into the battlefield. Breakfast included arroz (rice), huevos (eggs), y ensalada (salad). After our breakfast from 7:00 to 7:30, we full sprinted to the nearby school to begin our CAP.

This project is designed to interact with the regional citizenry in Santa Rosa, Turrialba, Costa Rica. This project is streamlined to effectuate the optimal magnitude of ministrations within our local coterie. Our servitudes encompass the fabrication of a state-of-the-art horticultural garth and the repigmentation of various enclosures. Throughout our prolonged and arduous assistance, our unit ascertained the knowledge that our work was actually making a difference. For example, the gardens that we were making were sustainable in the sense that the soil would be viable for the production and development of controlled vegetation for the purpose of education. Meeting members of the school that we worked at (kids ranging age 5 to 13) really motivated us and gave us something to work towards. Knowing that our actions at this school will continue to make a difference for this generation and beyond filled us with joy and maybe some comfort in the future. Being able to create a bond with the kids and shape the future of the community filled us with immense pride. We met Don Efrain, a community member and school helper, who truly inspired us, as he had nothing to do with the school, yet took immense pride and joy in aiding in anything that they needed. All in all, a great day.

Speaking of the day, being Líder Del Día (Leader of the Day) was a tough job. Not only did we have to make sure people were hydrated and fed, but we also had to keep track of everyone’s whereabouts, exposure to the sun, and exhaustion levels. Being a leader involved working alongside fellow Glimpsers to help get the work done and be examples to those around us. Reflecting on it now, we realize that understanding one’s strengths and weaknesses is key to inspiring and being a good leader. We will continue to grow as community members, workers of change, and of course, tourists.
