Hi Global Glimpsters!
We are your Group Leaders, Connor Warnock and Tony Tuttle. We hope you are excited for your trip to Matagalpa! We will be meeting you in the International Terminal at SFO on June 5 at 10:30pm. Please be sure you have a valid passport which expires at least 6 months after your return from Nicaragua. If you need any help with your passport, please contact us immediately!
A bit about Connor- I’m so excited to meet all of you! I live in San Francisco, where I work for a small surfing startup, but I’m originally from the mountains of North Carolina. And while I’ve travelled around the U.S. and Europe, this will be my first trip to Nicaragua. I love running/hiking, Mission tacos, and a good adventure.
A bit about Tony – Mr. Tuttle to all you high school students! I have taught high school math and history for about thirty years at John Swett High School in Crockett. I had the privilege of accompanying a group of students to Leon in 2010 and I had such a San Fran-tastic time that I decided to go visit Nicaragua again this year. You will be amazed with what you will learn, the people you will meet, and the things you will see. It is a beautiful country, it’s people are gracious. I look forward to meeting all of you.
We have planned a get together for all of you so you can meet one another and get to know each other before our trip to Nicaragua. We will meet on Saturday, May 25th at the 24th Street Bart station on the street level in San Francisco at noon. Mr. Tuttle will be wearing his “I love Nicaragua” t-shirt and Connor will be wearing a funky, colorful hat. Our group activities will include a mural walk, frisbee in the park, games, and lunch at a Nicaraguan restaurant (bring $10 – $20 to purchase lunch). The entire adventure should be around 3 hours. Gallo pinto for all! Please rsvp by emailing Connor by May 18th. If you are unable to attend, we understand as it is Memorial Day weekend. We will see you at the airport.
Once again, we’re both very excited to meet you and hope you can attend our get-together. If you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to email us. We will contact each of you by phone one week before our trip.
Here’s some photos of Matagalpa to enjoy before your trip. It’s a beautiful place!
