Hi, my

My name is Amelia and I’m a student at Northampton High School. I’m an active member of and love to participate in National Honors society and the school Environmental club. After school, I work at a petstore (giving out treats never gets old), I love to read, embroider, and watch documentaries in my free time. I’m so excited to have such an educational and immersive experience at the end of the summer, before the stress of college applications really sets in. I originally applied for GG because I love to travel and learn about different cultures in a variety of ways. I’m definitely adventurous when it comes to food, and that’s one of the many exciting things about visiting Ecuador. I’m looking forward to all the beautiful architecture and Riobamba’s mountain views, as well.  What really interested me, though, was the enthusiasm former Global Glimpsers had for the program and their experiences; meeting new people, being pushed out one’s comfort zone, forming relationships and learning to be a better global citizen is a rare and valuable opportunity I’m glad I didn’t pass up-  I probably would’ve never visited the Andes otherwise. I hope to gain a broader and more learned perspective of the world and the daily lives of the people living all around it as a result.
