Hi Everyone!

My name is Anureet Kaur (pronounced Uh-nu-reet Car), but you guys can call me Anu. I attend Irvington High School in Fremont, California. GO VIKINGS! I am ecstatic to take part on this trip and am really excited to meet all of you.

I like to do all sorts of things such as dance. As my close friend, Ananya Krishnaswamy (who will also be taking part on this trip), already stated, I’m a dancer. I’m co-captain of Irvington’s Bhangra Team. Bhangra is a North-Indian folk dance (it’s a lot more exciting and energetic than it seems). I’m also taking part in my school’s Treble Choir this upcoming year. As you can probably see through the activities I take part in, I LOVE MUSIC! I usually tend to listen to artists such as Beyonce, Ed Sheeran, or G-Eazy. In my free time I usually watch some tv shows such as Game of Thrones (they just killed off my favorite character..so sad) or New Girl. I usually tend to watch a lot of shows and then stop between seasons because I get bored and move onto something else. That’s happened with many shows such as Grey’s Anatomy, Arrow, PPL for example. I love to try new things and I’m really hoping that this trip will bring about a lot of new firsts for me.

If I was an animal, I would like to be a wolf because they are headstrong and set out for a common goal which I like to think of myself as. They are dependable but can also be independent.

As for the trip, I’m really looking forward to just the overall experience. I’m looking forward to all the new realities and things that will be enveloping around me in Nicaragua, and also to how this will impact me after the trip.

I’ve attached a picture of me below acting awkward infront of a bush of white flowers because…why not. I’m really excited to meet all of you!!!! 😀
