Hello Everyone!
I am Brittany. I teach at Impact Academy in Hayward and live in Oakland. I am super excited to travel with you all this summer and get to know you better!
A little about me, I grew up in Southern California and went to UCLA for college (Go Bruins!). I moved up to Oakland after graduation and have been up here ever since. I love being outside: hiking, camping, snowboarding, etc. It’s one of the reasons I love living in the Bay Area so much, because there are so many awesome and easily accessible places to go to get outside. I also love to travel and meet new people. My favorite trip I have ever taken was to Patagonia in southern Chile. I backpacked through a National Park for 5 days and saw glaciers and amazing mountains and got to meet people from all over along the way.
One of the reasons I signed up to be a GG Leader is because I think opportunities to get outside of your comfort zone and experience new things are transformative. I was lucky enough to get some opportunities to travel to new places when I was in college and I hope to be able to help you all process all the experiences you will have on this trip and talk about how they affect you.
I am looking forward exploring Ecuador with you all and learning more about the heritage and local indigenous culture. I am also looking forward to the conversations we all will have together each night and hearing all your views on the experience and our world as future leaders.
