Hey everyone!

I hope you’re all as excited as I am for our trip to Esteli, Nicaragua!  To introduce myself…

I’m 27 years old.  I have degrees in Philosophy and Political Science and minor in Music from UC Davis.  Since graduating, I’ve lived in Israel for two separate 6-month periods, where I was a caseworker for African asylum seekers and worked in permaculture on organic farms.  Between my studies in college, and my experience in both nutrition infrastructure and refugee work, I have developed a deep appreciation for cultural awareness and solutions to cyclical poverty.

Currently, I manage a fundraising office in downtown Oakland, advocating for Plan International’s “Because I am a Girl” campaign (planusa.org, check it out!), which works for sustainable infrastructure in developing communities and focuses on empowering young girls for social and economic change.  During our trip, please feel free ask me any questions about international development!

It is truly amazing that you have the opportunity to visit Nicaragua through Global Glimpse!  Prepare accordingly, because this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.  See you soon!
