Hi Glimpsers!

My name is Elyse Lewis, and I am one of your Global Glimpse Leaders (GGL) on our upcoming trip to Constanza in the Dominican Republic. The trip is less than 2 weeks away, and I can’t wait to travel with all of you!

A little bit about me: I teach drama at Bronx Center for Science and Mathematics, and some of my students will be joining us for our DR trip! I love all things theatre-related, so I’m totally down to play improv games or break out a Hamilton sing-along. In addition to theatre, my interests include baking, bad reality TV, and LGBTQ rights.

I’m so excited to go on this adventure with all of you as you step out of your comfort zone to experience new people, languages, cultures, and challenges. When I was 18, I left my small hometown in Massachusetts to attend college in Montreal up in Quebec, Canada. Quickly surrounded by new people, places, cultures, languages, I had to adapt quickly, and it was one of the best decisions I ever made. I fondly remember all of the international experiences I had as a young person. Now as an adult, I’m so happy to create those kinds of experiences for all of you!

Andrew, my Co-GGL, and I are looking forward to helping you all learn and grow as travelers, leaders, and people. I can’t wait to explore Constanza with all of you, and I’m especially excited to eat my weight in mangu. I cannot wait to share this experience with all of you and make amazing memories!
