Hello family and friends from the United States, I hope your Monday was amazing because I know ours was. Today after many hours of hard work, dedication, and careful planning, we were able to embark on an amazing journey to a Carribean beach with soft sand and beautiful blue water by the name of Boca Chica located in Santo Domingo in the southern part of the Dominican Republic. Later we returned to the hostel to buy supplies for the CAP(Community Action Project) and plan a graduation ceremony for our english classes who have been working very hard to learn the language.

In order to have been able to go to the beach we had to work together as a unified group of mature leaders and as Lider Del Dia I am proud that everyone stepped up to the task. Something that I’ve said multiple times and I hope that my peers remember for the rest of their lives is, “Teamwork makes the Dream work.“.

Being El Lider Del Dia today was  honestly challenging and stressful at first due to me having no complete plan or sense of what was actually going to happen today until we began to work as a team, problem solved, and work together to organize this amazing trip to the beach.

Over the course of this trip I have seen each and everyone of us break free from our shells and grow into amazing leaders. This beach day would not have been possible without the cooperation and maturity of everyone. I am proud to be part of such an amazing group of people, and although I know the trip is coming to an end, I hope they carry this life changing experience with them for the rest of their lives.
