We can’t believe our Glimpsers have only been here for two full days–it feels more like 5! Today was our Politics Day, and our GG Leaders Steve and Liza kicked off our day with a wonderful Academic Seminar that engaged the students and got them curious about the political situation in Nicaragua. We had a big discussion about the important and controversial issue of the Interoceanic Nicaraguan Canal that is being built. We also had an interesting talk about the current president of Nicaragua, Daniel Ortega. In the afternoon, we visited our wonderful Guest Speaker, Don Adolfo, who is a sociologist and an ex-fighter who participated in the revolution. We were all thrilled to learn from his experience and expansive knowledge! We are super excited for our Cultural Day tomorrow, and can’t wait to see our first Glimpser as El Lider del Dia in action.
