Today we got to actually watch a movie for the first time since we arrived here at the hostel in Jinotega. We watched a documentary called Dreaming Nicaragua which focused on the lives of a few Nicaraguan children. One child in the movie lived and worked in the dumps and it was sad. She lived in a community full of people who woke up daily to go scavenge through trash to hopefully find something they might be able to sell to provide for their families. This experience opened my eyes and it made me realize how lucky I am. We were all really shocked, but it also helped us get closer as a group. Even though it was raining, we made the best out of the day.

Global Glimpse has impacted me and my group. Now I am more appreciative of everything that I have. I can’t wait to see what is coming next. Stay tuned for tomorrow’s blog entry! (we didn’t take pictures because we wanted to respect the community and livelihood of the people. We miss you all!
