This was our second Sunday in our three week journey in Nicaragua. It was a funday so we were going to have fun somewhere else in Nicaragua. Everyone was anxious to know what we were going to but it was a secret that had to be kept until we arrive.

We woke up at 5:30 am and then went on a 3 hour drive to Somoto Canyon. When we got there, we went on a tour to see all of the wonders of the Canyon. We were all swimming in the river that went throught the Canyon and jumped off a few cliffs into the water along the way.

After the fun tour in Somoto Canyon, we went to have dinner in El Rancho restaurant, had a wonderfull meal, and danced a while.

The thing that surprised me the most was that all of my peers were encouraging each other on those scary jumps into the river. The most inspiring person I met that day was the tour guide because he was very brave into jumping cliffs that were very high off of the ground.

Being El Lider Del Dia that day was the best experience of leadership in this trip so far because I was pushed to take the lead and break out of my comfort zone to make sure everyone was having fun. Something that I learned about myself that day was that I do have what it takes to become a leader.
