Hello everyone!
We have only TWO more days left before heading out to Jinotega, Nicaragua! I hope you all have started packing, because the days are getting closer! I am excited to share this amazing experience with you all. My name is Nelly Hernandez and I will be one of your GG leaders along with Diana Lawrence. I recently graduated from UC-Santa Cruz and I worked for the Santa Cruz County of Education for the past three years as a tutor/mentor for students in transition. I am a Summer Search alumni and I went to a similar trip when I was in high school. Before my Summer Search trip, I had never traveled to another state or country (except Mexico). I met some of my best friends and people that became family to me. I know it can be quite scary to leave home, but know that we will be here for you every step of the way.
