Hello Global Glimpsers!!! My name is Ryan Nguyen, and I will be one of your Global Glimpse Leaders (GGL). It is the night before the trip, and I hope everyone is packed and ready to go. I am also an English teacher at Evergreen Valley High School. I have done a fair amount of travel throughout the United States, and a little travel throughout the Caribbean (though this will be my first trip to Nicaragua). Much of the travel I have done has been exploring different places, or as a rock climber. Most of my hobbies take me outdoors or engage in travel of some sort.
I became a GGL because Global Glimpse offers an opportunity to explore another society, culture, and lifestyle in a unique and exciting way. I strongly believe in the core values of the organization, and in what it’s trying to achieve. I think this is going to be a life changing opportunity for everyone involved, and I’m really excited to be a part of it.
Our program coordinators have done a marvelous job preparing many awesome activities for us all. I’m looking forward to meeting you all, and to being a part of this unbelievable journey we’re all about to embark on. I can’t wait to hear about your amazing journeys as we reflect each day on the amazing things you all are about to do. Being a part of this growth is why I became a teacher and why I became a GGL, and I wouldn’t trade either for the world. I will see you all tomorrow.
