Today we started off the day with a delicious breakfast of pancakes, eggs, and passionfruit juice. After that supercharging meal, we learned about Dominican culture and how to stay safe in our new environment. We got to know each other better with our “Ask Me About…” poems, and had some additional free time to rest from our long journey yesterday. We had a traditional Dominican lunch of sancocho, which is a really hearty stew, and headed out to our city tour!

We learned about Dominican history and stopped by the city’s plazas, the “Cazadores” fort (like the Dominican Marines), Constanza’s first radio station, and even slid down the pole at the local fire station! We ended the tour at the local baseball field with some ice cream. From there, we headed out to explore some of the local stores during free time. We wrapped up the day learning more about how to be a great Lider del Dia and had our nightly meeting. Everyone is tucked snugly into their beds and is sleeping soundly!

Good night, and until tomorrow,

Felix
