Hey everybody! Today was an exciting day full of highs and lows. We began by waking up at 7:00 a.m. Getting to breakfast on time did not go as planned which started the day on a rough note. As soon as we got back to the hostel, we gathered some safety equipment for the activity of the day.
Sliding down a volcano! (crazy, right?)
According to CNN, volcano boarding is the second highest on their bucket list of things you must do. On hearing this we were all excited to climb the volcano to the top
Don’t let the picture fool you. The volcano in the picture (Cerro Negro) is a very difficult climb. We had to stop a few times in order to catch our breath. Even through this difficult climb, everyone persevered and made it to the top. And might I say, the view was amazing at the top.
.
That’s when the real fun began. It was time to slide down the volcano on the boards we carried with us to the top. Sliding down went longer than expected because there were other groups that were waiting in line. The ride down lasted no more than 2-3 minutes, but we were going fast.
A trail of smoke followed us as we slid down the hill. (I thought of speed racer because of how fast everyone was going, but that’s just me) The first to go down cheered the others as they came down the volcano creating a very positive atmosphere. So the ended pretty positive.
Right now everyone is getting ready for a night out at a disco, so the place is buzzing with movement. I have to go get ready myself, so until tomorrow. PEACE!!!
