Hola! Today you will hear from us, Elijah and Max!

Today was the third and last day of our Community Action Project. We started off the day by waking up at 5:45 am and waking up everyone else at 6:00 am.
We continued to clear the area by cleaning the garbage, picking up and moving rocks, pulling weeds, and making beds for the plants. When the students from the school had recess, they were excited to see us for the last time. We all took a break to play with them; they were so full of energy. A few of us chatted, played piedra, tijeras, papel, and raced the students.
The weather today was very nice. It was cloudy and had a nice breeze, so we were able to get a lot more done. Even though everyone was tired and sore from the past two days, we rallied together to push through and even moved a full tree about twenty yards by carrying it on our shoulders. Teamwork makes the dream work!
At the end of the day, we were happy to see all the progress that was done and it looked like a totally different space. Before we started, the students described the space as a “jungle.” Now it is on its way to becoming a beautiful garden. Below, you can find the before and after photos of all our hard work. It was a rewarding experience for everyone and we are very happy with what we accomplished. The project will be finished with the next Global Glimpse Orosi delegation later in July.
We are excited to pass the torch to Christian, Liliana, and Julia, and we are looking forward to seeing what they do as Lideres del Dia.

Ciao,
Max y Elijah
