Hi, from Matt and Melanie,
Today, we continued to work on our Community Action Project (CAP). We had another early day today where we, Matt & Melanie, woke up at 5:00 am and everyone at 6:00 am. It was bit of a slow start but we eventually got to climbing up to the school around 9:30 am. Once there, we divided up into smaller groups to continue the work that we started yesterday. However, having a smaller group presented a challenge: more work but fewer hands to get it done.
Despite this obstacle, our group persevered and doubled their work ethic. The weather was hot and we were a bit uncoordinated, but we pushed through! Soon, we developed a system and began to make real progress. Eventually, though, we experienced Costa Rica’s signature weather: rain. This made our job even harder as it became muddy and difficult to work in. Nevertheless, we endured and Melanie gave the whole group the motivation to finish strong. After that, we made the trek back to base where everyone got some time to relax and recover. After dinner, we ended the day with our nightly meeting and we’re looking forward to what our next leaders have in store for us, Max and Elijah.
Saludos!
Melanie & Matt 🙂
