HELLO, GLIMPSERS! WE ARE SO HAPPY!  THE TIME TO MEET YOU ALL HAS ARRIVED!

This is Adrián González and Leydianis González from Orosi 1A

We know some things about you, and we would like you to know more about us:

Hello, my name is Adrian,

I was born and raised in the highlands of Cartago, Costa Rica. It’s a beautiful place surrounded by volcanoes, rivers, and agricultural fields. As a child, I loved camping and finding new places and through this activity, I discovered a great interest in nature and exploring.

My background in tourism focuses on gastronomy, administration, and guiding, among others, however, through tourism, I had the chance to travel to different places and meet people from other cultures.

I have around 10+ years of experience in sustainable tourism. My most recent position was program leader and program manager for educational tourism leading programs in the Dominican Republic and managing in Costa Rica.

I love outdoor activities such as hiking, swimming, and climbing, but it doesn’t matter what activity I am practicing, meeting and spending time with people is in my nature.

I believe that traveling is a great opportunity to discover yourself, grow, connect with amazing people, and positively impact local communities and the lives of others. Whenever you have the chance to travel, make time to know the locals and their culture.

Hola amigos! My name is Leydianis González, but you can call me Leydi. I was born and raised in Chitré, Panama. A country as beautifully biodiverse as Costa Rica.

My admiration for the intricate patterns that enable life on Earth led me to pursue a degree in Biology and through participation in exchange programs both locally and abroad, I’ve had the pleasure of studying amazing creatures, traveling through breathtaking landscapes, and sharing experiences with people from diverse backgrounds.

One of my most cherished memories is working with my Global Glimpse team in Riobamba, Ecuador, last year. The dedication of the people working to better their community, the curiosity of the students discovering new things, and the richness of the Ecuadorian culture are some of the many things I hold close to my heart.

One of my favorite things to do at home is learning languages. There’s something about reading books, watching movies, or singing songs in their original language that brings me joy. But the feeling of creating a deeper connection with my friends by trying to speak their language is even more rewarding 😻

I can’t wait to meet you in Costa Rica this summer! We have so much to learn and experience together. I’m committed to ensuring that our journey is a safe and joyful one, guided by courage and compassion.

Some things you should bring:

Sunscreen, a wristwatch, a cap, clothes to keep you warm because at night it can get chilly, a rain jacket, closed-toed shoes, a water bottle, clothes, and shoes that you can get dirty or stained for your CAP.

Remember also to bring your personal meds example: allergy medicines and the names of the pills you take written down.

¡Pura vida!
