Today we’re traveling to Turrialba, a small city located at the east of San José. We’ll be leaving behind all the tall buildings and noisy cities to get into this countryside area full of coffee, sugar cane, and forests.

At the base house located in Aquiares, we’ll have the chance to experience the real countryside life, surrounded by the largest coffee plantation in the country.

The word Turrialba comes from the indigenous word “Turiravac” which means “river of fire”,  this is because the Turrialba volcano, and Aquiares, another indigenous word that means “the land between rivers”.

Also we’ll meet Andrea, Maricruz and Diego, who are the ones in charge of feeding us delicious costarican dishes….

See you around….

Pura vida.
