Granada 1 has arrived!

Yesterday the very first Global Glimpse Granada delegation met at SFO Airport. After saying goodbye to family and friends and lots of photos, our glimpsers boarded the flight to Houston. Everything went smoothly and we were impressed by how our group bonded and worked together. After a quick layover in Houston we boarded our flight to Managua, a bit tired but very excited.

We were greeted at the Managua airport by the smiling faces of our trip coordinators Jennifer and Valeska and country coordinator, Madai along with a handmade welcome sign. From that point on, we knew we were going to have a blast. We boarded our air-conditioned bus (a real treat and rarity in Nicaragua) and picked up pizza on our way to the hostel in Managua.

This morning, we departed from Managua bright and early (5:30 am!) and enjoyed an hour bus ride to our new home for the next 2 ½ weeks – Granada! We are very excited to be here at the Hostal Amigos de La Casa Roja, in the heart of Granada. Today we are embarking on a city tour and learning about the history of Nicaragua.

Until next time

Hasta luego,

Sarah & Suzanne
