Hello family and friends! This is Weiqiang, Annie, and Ezra here to tell you guys about our action-packed day!

Today, everyone woke up at 6AM (we woke up at 5AM). For breakfast we had eggs, fried cheese, pineapples, papayas, a very special type of mashed potatoes along with some fantastic juice to go with everything. After breakfast, we had a delightful meeting about our trip to the greenhouse. At the greenhouse, we helped the workers take down cucumber plants in order for them to physically pick them. We all worked very hard, and were blessed with the new experience. After a few hours of working, we had the opportunity to speak with some of the workers about their own lives and how they felt about working in at the greenhouse, which they promptly responded by saying that they were all very glad to have the job that they have. After working, we went back to the hotel and had lunch, which consisted of chicken, rice, and salad.

After lunch, we headed out to a nearby produce packaging company to see where the cucumbers that we picked in the morning ended up. It was enlightening to see how our fruits and vegetables were packaged before they end up on the shelves of supermarkets. We made our way back to the hotel and then quickly got ready to teach our first English class! We were all split into groups and got to teach all kinds of people, ranging from young kids to adults. We all had a great time and look forward to the next class. After prepping for our next class, we returned to the hotel where dinner was waiting for us. We ate a delicious meal of rice, oven-baked chicken, and some fresh salad. We then proceeded to have our regular nightly meeting where we had a very impactful and engaging conversation about pressing issues in modern society. From working in the greenhouse and touring the packaging company, we were all very inspired to take action to combat the injustice that we witnessed.

After that, we had to write the blog post (which we’re currently doing!). We hope you enjoyed reading about our experiences today and look forward to tomorrow’s blog post.
