Hey guys, it’s Maggie and Karla! We were the Leaders of the Day on our CAP delivery day 2!

Today was an interesting day, some of us were sick but powered through to get work done. We woke everyone up today at 7 AM. At 8 AM for breakfast, we had toast and eggs with cheese and ham. After breakfast, we were supposed to head to the work site at 8:45 but had a meeting that delayed the transport. We ended up leaving around 9:10. Both of us were sick but as Leaders of the Day, we decided to follow through with our responsibilities and head to work. Some people stayed back so we didn’t know how much it would affect our progress. When we arrived at the site, a few of us decided to head back to the house while others got to work, but seeing others stepping up to get work done really highlighted the teamwork of this group in Jarabarcoa.

Since all of us have been on our top game, we didn’t have to go back a second time today to get more work done. We have done so much work that we are approaching the end of our CAP project. We will continue working tomorrow by digging holes by the river but we don’t know how far we will go since we have to leave work for the next global glimpse group. Our biggest challenge has been the roots of trees we find in the ground and working under the hot Dominican Republic weather.

Hopefully, tomorrow is a great day to end our CAP project.
