Hey Global Glimpse Families,

It’s Dulce and Jessica speaking on our final day of the CAP project. Today we started with waking up at 6:45am, it was a pretty early wake-up as we had a performance to watch. At the Escuela de Paris de Parita, the students had prepared a series of traditional dances for us as a way to thank us. It was so beautiful to watch as the 1st, 3rd, and 4th graders danced together in colorful traditional clothing. The boys would go first, and the girls would follow. Then the last dance, performed by the 2nd, 5th, and 6th graders had them come in unison into a circle and different formations. Special shoutout to Naiomi who brought so many donations that the kids enjoyed, as well as Christian, Kevin, and Walker who brought sports balls to play in the soccer fields and basketball. Also, Alondra and Arelly who brought candy for the students. The kids were grateful and happy to have received the gifts. After all that, we finished the paintings, finishing with the help of staff and students in adding in flowers to the doors. Then we went to lunch which was plantains, salad, chicken, lentils, and rice which was bomb. We had some free time, and most of us chose to go to Dairy Queen to help us with the hot and humid day. Afterwards, we had a self-reflection over the finishing touches of CAP Day and wrote a letter of appreciation to our supporters. Then dinner, which everyone devoured till there was nothing left. It was fries, grilled chicken or pork (pork was better) with salad and passionfruit juice. We had our nightly meeting which followed the same schedule as usual, giving a review of the day. Then we passed the torch to Andrew and Kevin who did a magic trick to earn it. They will be writing our next blog!

Sincerely, Dulce and Jessica
