It was a long drive but was it worth it? Today we woke up at 7 am to the smell of delicious pancakes scrambled eggs, watermelon, and a type of juice made of pineapple, cantaloupe, and papaya.

Immediately after, we started our three-hour drive, heading southeast to Juan Dolio. During the trip, we listened to the group playlist, rocking for three hours. Eventually, we made it to the coast and saw the beautiful light-blue ocean that is the Caribbean Sea. Shortly after we made it to our hotel, Fior di Loto, a Hindu-themed hotel showing aspects of Hindu culture. The hotel was founded by an Italian woman, who also founded a school in India that provides free education to girls. We then quickly changed into our beach clothes, put a whole ton of sunscreen on, and headed to the beach!

Hemingway Beach was where we arrived, where a hot scorching sun welcomed us. Some of us made a dash to the water, while the rest of us simmered on the sand. The water was warmer than expected, but, we still had lots of fun with the undertow pulling us in and the waves pushing us back. We collected dead corals and interesting-shaped rocks. Allison brought along a volleyball which attracted others to begin playing in a circle while the rest began to dig and bury Misael in the sand. In total, we spent three hours at the beach and had a great time!

Heading back, we got ice-cold ice cream that was provided by our staff, which we very much enjoyed. We arrived at the hotel, showered, changed, and went down to the dining area where we played card games. Dinner was bolonesa (Italian pasta), sourdough bread, and grilled eggplant which was very appetizing. Lastly, we had our usual nightly meeting in which we passed the torch to the new LDDs, Aranza and Atena.
