My name is Jake Saro, and I was born and raised in the Bay Area, California. Believe it or not, I live in Santa Clara, right next to the huge new Apple Campus, which is sometimes described as a spaceship due to its circular shape. I currently go to school at Cupertino High School, where I will be heading into my senior year. Being someone who loves any body of water, I play varsity water polo and swim. During the summer, I work as a swim instructor and lifeguard at a local pool. Some of my hobbies include, surfing, mountain biking, and traveling. I am looking most forward to immersing myself in the Dominican Republic’s culture, as I have never been outside of the United States except on vacation. I’m also greatly looking forward to trying out all of the food! Lastly I’m excited to meet all of you brave people who are willing to put your lives to the side for 17 days and experience a once in a lifetime opportunity.
